Furnace Operator - Steel & Wire
About The Position
Furnace Operator – Steel & Wire should be able to possess a mechanical aptitude and is able to safely and properly use hand tools and competently use measuring tools such as calipers. Equipment such as a hygrometer, analyzer (CO, CO2, and oxygen), voltmeters, hand tools, pressure switches, flow switches and proximity switches will be used. They will have or will possess a HiLo license or is able to learn and pass HiLo curriculum and become licensed; able to learn and operate an overhead crane. Successful candidates for Furnace Operator – Steel & Wire positions within MNP will possess the following skills, behaviors, and aptitude: The work environment for this position is noisy, oily, fast paced and physically demanding. It involves standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks with exposure to oily conditions and dust, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and appropriate footwear.
