Job Summary: HonorBridge is recruiting for a Funeral Services Liaison. The Funeral Services Liaison develops, implements, and continually enhances strategies that strengthen HonorBridge’s partnerships with funeral homes, crematories and trade embalmers across the donor service area, ensuring exceptional collaboration and service throughout the donation process. This role serves as the primary relationship-builder for funeral industry professionals, fostering trust that supports successful organ and tissue donation. In addition, the Liaison leads educational outreach for funeral services partners—delivering training, resources, and ongoing guidance to increase understanding of the donation process, promote best practices, and reinforce shared commitment to honoring donors and supporting families with compassion and respect.

Requirements

  • Current and active NC driver's license required
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of operating room environment
  • Experience in form completion and documentation
  • Experience with customer relationship management software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Commitment to organ and tissue donation
  • 3+ years experience in funeral directing/embalming and/or medicolegal investigations

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Funeral director/embalming license preferred

  • Provides education and support to funeral professionals
  • Delivers clear, timely information about organ, eye, and tissue donation and its impact on post-donation care
  • Offers technical guidance to assist with reconstruction, embalming, and preparation of donors following recovery
  • Coordinates and provides continuing education (CEU) opportunities tailored to the needs of funeral professionals
  • Responds promptly and professionally to concerns or complaints from funeral partners, ensuring issues are thoroughly addressed and used to improve collaborative practices.
  • Provides training and feedback to HonorBridge staff
  • Shares feedback, survey insights, and trends identified through interactions with funeral partners to improve internal practice
  • Provides training, tips, and recommendations to help staff understand funeral partner needs and integrate partner‑friendly practices into daily workflows
  • Reviews referral and case data related to funeral establishments to ensure communication is timely, accurate, and aligned with partner expectations
  • Serves as the HonorBridge representative to professional funeral services organizations
  • Actively assists with the HonorBridge quality assurance process
  • Submits development plans, including issues, goals, and strategies, and activity reports to supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned by HonorBridge management
