About The Position

As a I&C Systems Engineer II, you will independently contribute to the design, analysis, and support of safety-related Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems. This role is suited for candidates with a strong technical or scientific background who have demonstrated the ability to apply analytical skills, systems thinking, and sound engineering judgment in a regulated engineering environment. You will take on increased responsibility for technical work products, analysis execution, and cross-functional collaboration while continuing to work closely with senior engineers and project stakeholders. You will report to the Functional and System Engineering Manager and be based in the Warrendale, PA office on a hybrid schedule. No relocation assistance is provided.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline
  • Typically, 2+ years of experience in a technical, engineering, systems, or regulated environment, or equivalent demonstrated capability
  • Proven ability to apply analytical thinking and structured problem solving to moderately complex technical problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, well-structured technical documentation
  • Experience working with data, models, procedures, and technical analysis tools
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience or working knowledge of one or more of the following: o Reliability, risk, or systems analysiso Safety critical, regulated, or industrial systemso Control systems, instrumentation, or functional logic

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and maintain system documentation, including functional logic diagrams, specifications, and design descriptions
  • Perform reliability and performance analyses using established tools (e.g., Reliability Workbench) and documented methodologies, with limited supervision
  • Analyze operational and field data, identify trends or anomalies, and prepare complete technical summaries and reports
  • Support troubleshooting, evaluations, and design improvements for existing systems, contributing technical recommendations
  • Collaborate across disciplines (engineering, project management, quality, and operations) to support project execution
  • Support project coordination activities including task estimates, schedules, and configuration/document control
  • Apply and adhere to established safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in a safety critical environment
  • Provide technical guidance or peer support to less experienced engineers or analysts as needed
