About The Position

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Functional Software Engineering Manager to support a team focused on mission critical work revolutionizing the space industry. This individual will manage software development teams including frontend, backend, and C2 developers, while also supporting 10% of the technical development. The Functional Software Engineering Manager will work hybrid out of Denver, Colorado (2 days/week on-site). Responsibilities for the Functional Software Engineering Manager include: Manage a team of software developers focused on satellite applications and interfaces in the DOD space Help grow the software development team through hiring, performance reviews, mentorship, 1v1s, and project management responsibilities Support development, code reviews, and products building with python, Typescript, React, Rust Oversee interviews, customer engagements, and team meetings

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a Software Developer/Technical Manager
Experience with Fullstack Software Development (Python, Rust, Typescript)
Experience with the DOD or Aerospace industry
Experience acting as managerial or lead engineer while also providing hands-on development, conducting 1v1s, building out teams, etc.
Active Secret clearance or higher
Bachelor's Degree
