Fullstack Engineer (Backend Leaning)
About The Position
Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed AI startup building the “App Store for AI”—a platform designed to help individuals and enterprises discover, evaluate, and deploy AI agents at scale. As the ecosystem of AI agents rapidly expands, their platform addresses the growing complexity of discovery and adoption through structured evaluation, social proof, and real-time testing environments. Backed by top-tier investors and operating at the frontier of AI infrastructure and marketplaces, the company is tackling deeply technical challenges across distributed systems, real-time inference, and scalable backend architecture. Requirements
- 2–5 years of software engineering experience (startup experience strongly preferred)
- Strong backend expertise with TypeScript/Node.js and PostgreSQL
- Experience building production-grade systems and APIs
- Background in early-stage or high-growth startup environments
- Demonstrated ownership of features or systems end-to-end
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in ambiguity
- Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ML infrastructure, model serving, or real-time inference systems
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and distributed systems
- Exposure to AI/LLM systems or agent-based architectures
- Founder or founding engineer experience
- Strong product intuition and ability to move quickly
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend systems and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js
- Architect and optimize PostgreSQL databases , including schema design and query performance
- Develop infrastructure for containerized AI agent execution environments
- Build and scale real-time ML inference pipelines and recommendation systems
- Own features end-to-end, from problem definition to production deployment
- Collaborate closely with founders to define product direction and technical architecture
- Contribute across the stack as needed to support product and customer needs
- Ship quickly in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
