About The Position

Position Responsibilities: Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students Develop and/or revise curriculum Be compliant with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college-wide events Maintain professional and technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events Promote and recruit for program within and outside of the College. Promote diversity and cultural competency

Requirements

  • Associate degree and a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program in surgical technology or an associate degree in nursing.
  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified operating room experience as a practicing surgical technologist (scrub role) or an operating room nurse including scrub experience.
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA formerly LCC-ST).
