About The Position

A busy modern family in NYC is seeking a governess who can start now as a live-out and then become a live-in, in November. The schedule is Monday through Friday, but it may change with travel. The main focus is on education, flexibility to travel, and must be FLUENT in either Italian or French. They are looking for a governess who values longevity and will become part of the family, growing with the children for many years to come. The position is looking to hire immediately.

Requirements

• Legal to work in the US
• Comfortable to become a live-in come November
• Modern family dynamic - two dads and two 16-month-olds
• Passport ready, not expiring within six months
• Flexible to travel for extended periods
• Must be fluent in either French or Italian
• Prior experience as a governess
• Experience with multiples and toddlers

Responsibilities

• Daily childcare of two toddlers (16 months old)
• Bathing
• Feeding
• Attending playdates and classes
• Light cooking: (There is a chef who prepares all the children's meals, but sometimes things have to be reheated. )
• Education: This is the main focus. Teaching the children how to read, constantly focusing on education, and stimulating them at the appropriate age level
• Cultural Education and outings: Taking the children to museums to learn about art, animals, history, etc
• Travel: Must love to travel! The family spends 2.5 months in Florida, a month in Europe (Switzerland), and a month on their boat in the Northeast.
