What We’re Looking For Residential Cook This role involves preparing and cooking menu items using standardized recipes while operating commercial kitchen equipment to support continuous service. Team members are responsible for maintaining food safety, sanitation, and clean workspaces in accordance with KU Dining standards. The position also emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and providing friendly, professional service to create a welcoming dining experience for students and guests. Global Cook This role focuses on preparing and storing food with consistency and quality while following all food safety and sanitation standards. Team members contribute to a clean, organized workspace, collaborate closely with coworkers, and communicate effectively with supervisors. The position also emphasizes excellent customer service, flexibility in supporting multiple work areas, and fostering a welcoming dining environment for guests. Locations and Hours: Ekdahl Dining Center (Mrs. E’s) at Lewis Hall North College Café at Gertrude Sellards Pearson (GSP) Hall South Dining Commons at Cora Downs Hall All residential dining hall hours: Monday – Friday: 7AM – 7:30PM Saturday – Sunday: 9AM – 7PM Duties & Responsibilities of All KU Memorial Union Positions Adhere to University and KU Memorial Union policies and procedures. Support the KU Memorial Unions’ lines of effort, initiatives, and End State, and uphold the department’s mission and core values: community, dignity, empowerment, excellence, innovation, and safety. Follow the 7 Team Principles: competence, creating cohesive teams through mutual trust, creating shared understanding, setting clear leader intent, written/verbal communication, disciplined initiative, and risk management.
