About The Position

An amazing Brooklyn Heights Family of four is in search of a warm, fun chef to join their household. The role is Monday through Friday from 12 to 8pm. The family has a home in the Bahamas, and you will be asked to travel a few times per year. They may also ask for a few Saturday nights per year, so sporadic weekend availability would be excellent.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will ideally have at least 5 years’ experience working in a private family and be attuned to preparing food for families with children, as well as for both casual and higher-end events - the whole gamut.
This is a warm, kind, happy household, and candidates absolutely must be positive, friendly team players - a harmonious, positive energy in the home is a top priority for the family (i.e., everyone leaves their problems at the door and works as a team).
US passport, Green Card, or EAC
Passport ready and willing to travel, if required
Available to start ASAP

Responsibilities

Preparing very easy breakfast snacks (to be set aside/refrigerated the night before)
Lunch (prepared and stored)
Occasional plate lunches
Dinner at 7pm (served)
Demonstrated focus on health-conscious, refined, and creative cuisine, with extensive experience sourcing premium organic ingredients
Responsible for maintaining an orderly and well-organized refrigerator, freezer, and pantry area; monitoring inventory; and conducting strategic grocery shopping to ensure efficiency and minimize waste
Ensuring the kitchen is thoroughly cleaned and reset at the conclusion of each workday
Finding new and tasty gluten-free options
Traveling with the family from time to time
Ability to perform duties with composure, professionalism, and a high level of organizational skill
