About The Position
Vassar Brothers Medical Center of Nuvance Health, proudly joining Northwell Health, is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join a successful and growing OB/GYN group located 75 minutes north of New York City. The team is a collaborative Midwife/OB-GYN team providing care to a diverse patient population from multiple counties in the Hudson Valley. The practice currently has 5 midwives and aims to increase staffing to 7 to provide 24/7 midwifery coverage alongside physician colleagues. This role offers an opportunity to help grow and shape the practice. The ideal candidate is dedicated to the midwifery model of patient empowerment and to providing full scope care grounded in compassion and shared decision making. A full-time full scope midwife will work two clinic days and one 24-hour call shift per week (80 hours per two week pay period), with weekends and holidays shared amongst the group. The practice offices are located in Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, and Highland, working alongside 7 board-certified physicians. The practice admits exclusively to Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, which has a busy Labor and Delivery Unit seeing about 2,800 births annually, a Level III NICU staffed by neonatologists, and an excellent Perinatology program. Fellowship-trained breast surgeons and GYN-oncologists are also located on the Vassar Hospital campus.
