About The Position

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is seeking a Full Circle Specialized Program Assistant for its Full Circle Program at YMCA at Brentwood. This part-time position is for individuals passionate about helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disorders thrive. The role involves leading high-quality, engaging classes that foster technical skills, character development, and fun, utilizing the assistant's unique skills and enthusiasm.

Requirements

• Minimum Age: 18
• College degree or life experience in relevant fields (e.g., therapy, education)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in your specialty area
• Enthusiasm for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disorders
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• New Hire Orientation before your first shift
• CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days of hire
• Relias training within 14 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Teach skills and activities related to your area of expertise, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or special education
• Lead dynamic, safe, and educational classes tailored to participants’ needs
• Build meaningful relationships with participants, encouraging interaction and growth
• Address behavioral or sensory challenges calmly and effectively
• Work closely with parents, participants, and team members to deliver an outstanding program experience
