About The Position

The Fulfillment Center Assistant Manager supports the Fulfillment Center Manager by overseeing all warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, deliveries, e-commerce processing, replenishment, inventory, and location management. This role ensures the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of product and provides direct leadership to the receiving, delivery, and shipping teams. The FC Assistant Manager is also responsible for driving continuous improvement and safety initiatives across the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; some college coursework in business, supply chain, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in warehousing, supply chain, or related operations
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role within a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO preferred), LEAN, and Six Sigma principles
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution, including ERP and Traffic Management Systems (TMS)
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Manages department supervisors with a focus on coaching, performance oversight, and regular one-on-ones
  • Drives a positive work environment by recognizing performance and upholding company policies
  • Collaborates with HR and leadership on employee relations and compliance matters
  • Oversees onboarding and ongoing training for inbound, delivery, and warehouse teams, ensuring SOP and equipment compliance
  • Develops cross-training plans, ensures role coverage, and coordinates staffing and break schedules to meet operational needs
  • Oversees daily inbound (receiving, put-away, inventory, replenishment) and outbound (picking, staging, loading, fulfillment) operations
  • Maintains facility cleanliness, organization, and timely completion of monthly inspections
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives and coordinates building maintenance
  • Ensures all team members are properly trained and certified on Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE)
  • Partners with supervisors to lead safety initiatives, conduct training, daily walks, and observations
  • Identifies and addresses unsafe conditions, enforces accountability, and promotes positive safety practices
  • Reviews inspection reports, coordinates corrective actions, and escalates issues when needed
  • Co-leads safety committee meetings, supports data reporting, and recommends safety improvements
  • Reports exceptions to the "ship clean" policy and communicates shipping delays or issues to customers and branches
  • Ensures proper maintenance of Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE) and audits operator certifications for compliance
  • Ensures all inbound freight is accurately received and stored within three business days
  • Verifies compliance with SOPs for Bills of Lading, freight counts, and damage documentation
  • Reports exceptions such as damages or shortages per company procedures
  • Escalates receiving issues—including equipment damage, vendor delays, safety incidents, or employee concerns—to the manager promptly
  • Safety-sensitive role requiring constant alertness and adherence to safe work practices
  • Maintains proficiency in company systems for administrative tasks such as data entry, messaging, call logs, and workflow updates
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and responsibilities
