SCOPE: A person who will be primarily working in a commercial and industrial setting while repairing fuel and oil pumps and equipment. This job will also include the installation of petroleum pipe and tube in a small setting, fitting out fuel tanks and installing fuel monitoring systems. Working in groups to complete tasks on multiple levels, you will be asked to learn about a variety of systems and lead others around you to complete those tasks. Contact with chemicals and heavy equipment will be a daily occurrence so safety is our number one concern. Construction knowledge is welcomed and teaching what you know is encouraged. SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES & DELIVERABLES Fuel system repair will consist of gas station dispensers, card readers, sump work, underground tanks and Point of Sale (POS) Systems. Diagnosing issues with sites and completing maintenance check lists. Commercial Fuel systems will focus on above ground tanks and mechanical equipment such as fuel hoses, swivels, nozzles and filters. All fuel equipment must be diagnosed before ordering parts for repair. This position requires the use of a crane truck and demands strict guidelines to be followed to remain safe. Lubrication equipment will consist of installing and repairing above ground tanks, pumps, reels and hydraulic tubing. Lubrication dispensing pumps will be repaired on site or in the shop using repair kits and parts. Lube systems will be installed in vehicle and equipment maintenance shops using hydraulic tubing and hoses. Using basket lifts potentially to the height of 30’ to anchor and install plumbing will be a requirement. Air systems will include installing a compressor, plumbing air to multiple reel locations and hose outlets as well as plumbing to large machines. Fuel monitors are installed into above ground and below ground tanks and will need to be replaced or repaired on a daily occurrence. This requires wrenching and initializing communication via applications on your phone. Plumbing equipment by the use of threading pipe or compression fittings will be a daily task. Handling chemicals such as diesel, gasoline, degreasers, diesel additives and petroleum blends that will need to be disposed of. Also any other duties that may arise will be address by this position.
