About The Position

The Feed Mill Maintenance supports safe, efficient, and reliable operations across Rockingham Cooperative’s feed manufacturing facilities. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment, rolling stock, and facility systems to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
3+ years of industrial or agricultural maintenance experience preferred.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical diagrams.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in dusty, noisy, or hot environments.
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

Experience with welding, fabrication, or machining is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on feed mill equipment including mixers, grinders, pellet mills, conveyors, augers, motors, and bagging systems.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and complete timely repairs to reduce operational downtime.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment, buildings, and grounds to identify hazards, wear, or needed repairs.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage records in accordance with company procedures.
Assist with equipment installations and upgrades to support operational improvements and capital projects.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and feed quality standards including OSHA, VOSH, and Rockingham Cooperative policies.
Operate forklifts, loaders, and other equipment as needed to support maintenance and production activities.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and support after-hours or weekend maintenance needs on a rotating basis.
Collaborate with mill operators and supervisors to prioritize work and maintain efficient production flow.
Maintain clean, organized work areas and support housekeeping standards across the facility.
