Apply today! JOB SUMMARY: The Pre-Surgery Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process for patients scheduled for surgery. This position is responsible for welcoming patients, verifying documentation, and assisting with the preparation of surgical charts, particularly for OSSH cases. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm, Full-Time 40 hours/week.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required.
  • Experience in a medical office setting with extensive public contact is strongly preferred.
  • General knowledge and awareness of HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Must be computer literate, have professional telephone etiquette and have professional and effective communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills as well as being able to work independently.
  • Must be a team player and willing to work with all staff to get the overall job accomplished.
  • Must have a willingness to accept change and new ideas as the medical business changes often.
  • Must demonstrate a professional manner in work setting and be able to hold all information in strict confidence.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude towards coworkers, physicians and patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients/visitors in a professional, courteous and helpful manner.
  • Registers patients for his/her scheduled visit with the provider.
  • Verifies patient demographic information and updates computer system as needed.
  • Collects and scans patient insurance card/cards and verifies eligibility information.
  • Answers telephones promptly, identifies self and directs calls as appropriate.
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude towards patients, co-workers and physicians.
  • Keeps work area orderly and neat.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in performing additional responsibilities that contribute to the improvement of patient care and the well-being of the Practice.
  • Handles difficult situations tactfully.
  • Schedules appointments and issues work and/or gym notes as needed.
  • Prepares charts in an organized and timely fashion.
  • Assists with scanning charts.
  • Reviews charts and schedules for accuracy
  • Routes scheduling sheets and EKG documentation to appropriate location.
  • Participates in educational activities, unit meetings and quality initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned.
