About The Position

The Frozen Lead is responsible for exemplifying and ensuring strong customer service and directing and controlling the operation of the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives. This role serves as a primary contact for customers, providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service. Key duties include training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning tasks to Frozen Food Clerks. The Lead is also responsible for changing signs and prices, maintaining appropriate stock and inventory, minimizing out-of-stock products, and writing frozen food orders. Daily tasks involve checking orders, rotating products, removing expired stock, keeping cases stocked, and cleaning the department area. The position also involves handling received shipments, loading products onto pallets and into cases, breaking down cardboard, checking and filling the ice machine, and restocking end displays. In the event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, the employee will manage product removal, case cleaning, and restocking. The Frozen Lead may also assist as a cashier/checker during peak times.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow company customer service procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise Frozen Food workers to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the department.
  • Speak with customers to resolve problems involving sales, satisfaction with service, or product and other problems related to the operation of the Frozen Food area.
  • Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
  • Replace stock in coolers, freezers, and end displays.
  • Make sure that all expired items are removed from the shelves daily.
  • Unload boards and stack on pallets or six wheel carts.
  • Push pallet jacks or six wheeled carts through store to display areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of display areas and freezers.
  • Change signs and prices as directed by merchandising.
  • Maintain appropriate stock and inventory in the frozen food area.
  • Minimize out of stock product.
  • Write frozen food order in the order guide book.
  • Check order for completeness upon arrival.
  • Rotate product and remove expired stock daily.
  • Keep frozen food cases stocked with product.
  • Clean department area.
  • Restock items in freezer for other departments.
  • Break down cardboard boxes and place in the bailer.
  • Check ice machine daily and fill as needed.
  • Restock end displays as per instructions.
  • Clean any spills from leakage in cases or on department floor.
  • Remove all items, clean out the case, and replace or restock product in event of a freezer malfunction or power outage.
  • Function as cashier/checker during peak times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
