Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Frontend Engineer for a potential opportunity. In this position, the Engineer will be responsible for the following: Build responsive, component-based UIs using React (or Angular/Vue) that interact with complex backend APIs. Prototype mockups or wireframes for stakeholder presentations and reviews. Create a comprehensive and unified library of UI components that can be utilized for all future development and can be modified for specific use cases. Perform functional and integration testing of UI components and workflows using modern testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Mocha/Chai, etc. Write frontend code that integrates with government authentication standards (e.g., CAC/PIV smart cards, Login.gov, or OAuth2 in a FedRAMP environment). Building interfaces that are responsive to all screen sizes and aligned with Government 508 Compliance requirements. Ensure UI works with screen readers (JAWS/NVDA), keyboard navigation, and color contrast before QA. Primary Objectives: Assist in the Discovery Phase activities of gathering user requirements, business analysis, legacy system analysis, Epic/Story creation, external data integration planning, and product backlog management.
