About The Position

As a Frontend Engineer at Augment Code, you are a frontend engineer specializing in user interface design and implementation. You’ll contribute to critical decisions about product, design, and backend integration. Currently we are focused primarily on Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) like VS-Code and the JetBrains family of products.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience doing software development
• Experienced with front end development: Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Svelte, React, Kotlin and Java or similar
• Shipped UI/UX workflows, preferably for devtools
• Deep understanding of the developer experience and ability to work with key stakeholders including users, designers, AI researchers, and systems engineers

Responsibilities

• Work closely with design staff, AI researchers, and members of the systems team to design, build, and iterate on Augment's AI for Code Client
• Design and build user interfaces for Augment, beginning with IDE extensions and plugins
• Collaborate with Augment's systems engineering team to define and build the frontend-backend integration
• Collaborate with a team of AI Researchers and Systems Engineers to craft the technical direction of the Augment system, including choosing preferred approaches for creating Augment's initial AI models and determining the next programming assistance tasks to be solved by Augment's system
