About The Position

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. They are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. The company is dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces differences and supports all team members. As a Frontend Engineer at Archer, you will build and optimize scalable internal web applications using Vue 3 to support engineering and operations. Your primary focus will be collaborating with the Data Team to develop a custom, visualization-heavy platform for analyzing complex flight test data.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of full-stack software development experience, with 3+ years focused on frontend development and modern best practices
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in the Vue or React ecosystem and modern component-based UI development
  • Experience with modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS) and component libraries
  • Expertise with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and scalable UIs for data and graph-intensive features
  • Hands-on experience integrating Generative AI via API, with familiarity applying RAG in custom applications
  • Knowledge of data visualization technologies such as D3.js, Plotly, Grafana, Superset, or similar
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility (WCAG) and security best practices
  • Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly across diverse stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building internal tooling for hardware or IoT systems, particularly processing and analyzing time-series data
  • Background in aerospace or a related field, especially flight test data analysis or aircraft health monitoring

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable full-stack web applications using modern frameworks (Vue 3 / Nuxt 4) to support engineering, operations, and other internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Data team to build a custom web platform to conduct complex data reviews following flight tests.
  • Partner with the tech lead and key engineering stakeholders to gather requirements, iterate on features and UI/UX, and drive adoption across multidisciplinary teams
  • Build and maintain AI assistants and tools integrating with Generative AI via API
  • Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and responsiveness across devices and browsers
  • Write unit and integration tests, debug issues, and ensure cross-browser compatibility
