About The Position

JOB SUMMARY The Front Desk Specialist serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and external partners, providing professional, courteous, and efficient front office support in a medical clinic setting. This role is responsible for patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate patient records while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements. The Front Desk Specialist plays a critical role in supporting clinic operations, facilitating patient access to care, and ensuring a positive patient experience. This position works closely with clinical staff, providers, and administrative teams to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of customer service, administrative, or healthcare office experience.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and calmly.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience working in a medical clinic or healthcare environment.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Experience with insurance verification and patient registration.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems preferred.
