Our private-practice, multi-doctor veterinary hospitals need your expertise! Bixby Animal Hospital and Urgent Care is a brand new, state-of-the-art animal hospital and urgent care. This is the 4th location of a private practice that has been a part of the South Bay community since 2005. As a committed private practice hospital, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service to our clients and exceptional medical care to our patients. To continue our mission of excellence in pet health, we’re now hiring doctors for our newest full-service animal hospital. About Our Hospitals Bixby Animal Hospital and Urgent Care joins Bixby Animal Clinic in Long Beach, Lakewood Pet Vet in Lakewood, and Lincoln Animal Hospital in Cypress as the largest GP/Urgent Care in the South Bay. Besides wellness, sick pet, and walk-in appointments, our Associates perform surgeries on a wide variety of cases. Our facility works hand in hand with board-certified internists, dermatologists, cardiologists, orthopedic surgeons, and criticalists onsite, so we’re able to keep our cases in-house. We have also made a significant investment in our team members so you can focus on delivering the highest quality medicine. Every Associate is supported by a Doctor’s Assistant in addition to RVTs, Vet Assistants, and Pharmacy Technician, all dedicated to our mission of providing excellent patient outcomes. Our new hospital has 8 exam rooms, two surgery suites, large doctors’ office, separate dog and cat wards, and is outfitted with all the latest equipment, including: Digital full-body radiography and digital dental radiography In-house lab with Idexx Catalyst, SnapPro, Abaxis PTPTT, and CBC machines Full suite of dental equipment Endoscopy Cold laser Ultrasound ICU (oxygen) Cage In-house and online pharmacy Our practice continues to grow, and we need talented people to grow with us. If you have previous experience as a Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Financial Coordinator in a Veterinary hospital or clinic, then you might be the next great addition to our team at Bixby Animal Hospital and Urgent Care. Our Client Care team members play an integral role in providing excellent service to our clients as well as facilitating communications between all hospital departments. A caring and compassionate attitude as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required of our team members. You will work closely with the doctors and technicians to ensure that clients comply with treatment plans and understand after-care instructions. Additional duties include updating patient medical records, going over estimates with clients, and taking payments. An understanding of animal diseases, veterinary terminology, nutrition, and basic animal handling and restraint skills is helpful but not required.

Requirements

  • You must be available to work one weekend day per week .
  • Punctuality and consistent attendance are a MUST.
  • Professional manner and dress.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous veterinary clinic experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with common veterinary terminology and medical conditions.
  • Candidates should have at least 3+ years of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital; previous experience with paperless practices and Ezyvet & Smartflow is preferred.
  • We welcome recent graduates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Animal Science.

Responsibilities

  • Streamline DVM workflow by reviewing the appointment schedule, anticipating client arrivals, taking patient history, concisely relaying client concerns to the doctors.
  • Ensure patients are checked in and discharged promptly and efficiently.
  • Timely updating patient medical records in EzyVet & Smartflow.
  • Make follow-up calls for progress exams, updates, client compliance, and recommendations.
  • Promote preventative services to the clients.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner are essential.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude when dealing with pet owners, management, and staff.
