About The Position

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH REPRESENTATIVE FLSA: NON - EXEMPT Duties/Responsibilities: Provide coverage for behavioral health representatives who are absent at different clinic locations. Assist with front desk duties, such as answering phones, managing check-ins/outs, greeting patients and process copayments. Prepare daily deposits. Help patients with scheduling, intake processes, and any questions related to their behavioral health services. Ensure accurate patient information is entered into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, including new patient data and updates. Manage patient referrals to the behavioral health program, coordinating with providers and external services as needed. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and organizational standards. Handle data entry tasks, process referrals, write reports, and manage pre-authorizations. Assist behavioral health providers by managing their schedules, handling appointment cancellations, no-shows, and rescheduling as necessary. Serve as a liaison between patients and providers to facilitate communication and care coordination. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for behavioral health services. Assist with billing and claims submission, ensuring proper documentation is in place. Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner. Foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for patients seeking behavioral health services. Assist with billing processes, including claims submission and resolving any documentation issues to support payment processing. Organize medical forms and update patient summary sheets at each visit. Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure continuity of care and administrative efficiency across various locations. Support the team with any additional administrative tasks as required, such as ordering office supplies and assisting with special projects. Perform additional tasks as needed to support the centers.

  • Ability to use office equipment, including computers, copy machines, fax machines, telephones, calculators, and more.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and related software.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years related experience required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel to various center locations as required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical and psychological terminology, mental health disorders, preferred
  • Familiarity with depression assessment and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ) preferred
