About The Position

The Front of House (FOH) Manager focuses on daily service operations, team leadership, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The role combines hands-on hospitality management with operational planning, including process development, team training, and special event execution. They will also be an avid MadTree Brewing Company ambassador who lives out our behaviors of Connect, Grow, and Give a Fck.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education preferred.
  • 2+ years of front of house leadership, people management, and hospitality staff training & development in a high-volume restaurant/bar required.
  • ServSafe PIC/Manager certified.
  • Available to work evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Management work week averages 45-50 hours per week and more deemed necessary at various times.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily FOH operations by monitoring facility conditions, maintaining cleanliness standards, ensuring guest safety, and coordinating with leadership to resolve issues that affect guest experience or service execution.
  • Opening and closing the FOH on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduling dictates.
  • Participates in all FOH personnel matters, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews, conflict management, and coaching.
  • Acts as point person on-site for all entertainment, vendors, and staff during special events.
  • Conducts regular inventory counts to track and forecast supply needs, including glassware, cleaning supplies, gift cards, and retail items.
  • Manages all cash handling, cash deposits, and counting and distributing tips while on duty.
  • Ensure all team members complete assigned safety training and always operate in a safe manner, being vigilant of any potential safety concerns.
  • Ensures that the cleanliness of the FOH and the safety of guests are maintained at all times.
  • Manage through a “hands on” approach. This includes but is not limited to non-scheduled assistance with bartending, retail, serving, and utility activities as well as .
  • Partner with Back of House leadership to ensure seamless service execution, including stepping in to support BOH operations during high-volume periods or when operational needs require additional coverage to maintain service standards.
  • Create an engaging and energetic environment where all employees work as a team to provide a specific and consistent experience for all guests.
  • Lead daily service operations through active floor management, including guest interactions, service support, and hands-on assistance across all FOH positions to maintain service standards and optimal guest flow while ensuring efficient operations.
  • Resolve guest conflict through service recovery and implement change under direction of MadTree management when necessary.
  • Work closely with the Private Events team to ensure successful execution of events.
  • Take an active role in operational excellence by identifying improvement opportunities through guest feedback, team input, and first-hand observations, then collaborating with leadership to implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and comprehensive training programs for service execution, opening & closing operations etc.
  • Manage labor costs and scheduling optimization while ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet service demands and budget targets.
  • Execute regular inventory counts while monitoring and maintaining appropriate par levels across all FOH supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and communicating replenishment needs to prevent service disruptions.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of food and beverage offerings, ensuring team is properly trained on menu items, allergens, and beverage program details.
  • Partner with People Strategy to execute recruitment strategy, performance reviews, and engagement survey action plans.
  • Enthusiastically spends at least 16 hours a year volunteering (paid) for MadTree Impact initiatives with excitement while motivating your team to do the same.
