As the Front of House Manager for Shake Shack at the Udvar‑Hazy Center, you’ll help lead a fast‑paced, elevated fast‑casual operation that blends efficiency, hospitality, and strong brand execution. You’ll work closely with the General Manager to guide daily operations, inspire a frontline team, and ensure a consistently excellent guest experience that reflects the Shake Shack brand. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-volume fast food or fast‑casual settings and loves coaching teams, delivering quality, and upholding a nationally recognized brand standard.

Requirements

  • Experience leading teams in fast food, fast‑casual, elevated fast‑casual, or similar high‑volume environments
  • Strong communication and team‑building skills with an inclusive leadership style
  • Ability to multitask in a high‑energy, guest‑focused setting
  • Comfort managing inventory, cost controls, and basic financial reports
  • Skilled at planning, prioritizing, and making informed decisions during peak periods
  • Tech‑savvy with strong POS and computer skills
  • Collaborative, solutions‑oriented mindset with a desire to coach and grow others
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and event‑driven hours
  • Knowledge of food safety standards; certifications are a plus or can be obtained after hire

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations of the Shake Shack venue, ensuring smooth, consistent service
  • Lead, schedule, train, and develop a team of approximately 30 front‑of‑house employees
  • Maintain brand standards in hospitality, speed of service, product consistency, food safety, and cleanliness
  • Partner with the General Manager to manage costs, inventory processes, and labor planning
  • Support training programs that reinforce Shake Shack culture, operational systems, and guest service expectations
  • Collaborate with museum operations teams to align staffing and service levels with visitor attendance
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health code requirements
  • Maintain strong communication and positive relationships with team members, venue partners, and supervisors
  • Assist in operational planning for peak periods, school groups, and high‑volume museum days
  • Monitor financial performance and support initiatives that drive sales, reduce waste, and improve overall results
