About The Position

The Front Lobby Receptionist acts as a resource to patients, visitors and others entering the hospital through the front lobby. Courteously answers questions and guides patients and visitors to their destinations and informs visitors of the visiting policy and upholds it at all times. Keeps current documentation of all patients who present for registration.

Requirements

  • Work experience that includes interacting with and greeting guests, assisting customers, being organized.
  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
  • Typing 40 WPM, Computer experience, faxes, copiers, multiline phones, printers.
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management - CHOC moved to training from licensure.
  • Must be a strong team player.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
  • Attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - Must be obtained within three (3) months of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in a reception position.
  • Some college or communications classes .
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
