About The Position

This role is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and assisting the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals. The Assistant Department Leader will monitor quality assurance standards, direct and supervise Front-end department functions, and support day-to-day operations. They are also responsible for executing best practices and demonstrating the company's core values. Smith’s Food and Drug, which merged with The Kroger Company in 1998, serves customers in over 140 stores across multiple states. Responsibilities

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return.
  • Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department.
  • Monitor all established quality assurance standards.
  • Assist in directing and supervising all functions, duties and activities for the Front-end department.
  • Support the day-to-day functions of the Front-end operations.
  • Assist with the execution of best practices, goals and Front-end standards established for the department.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
