About The Position

The Member Experience Team Member at Gold's Gym is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for members and guests as they enter the gym. This role involves greeting individuals, managing front desk operations, assisting with inquiries about gym policies, and performing various administrative tasks as directed by management. The position emphasizes excellent customer service and operational efficiency to enhance the overall member experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both staff and members.
  • Effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills are required.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles is required.
  • Understanding of basic cash processing procedures is required.
  • Functional computer skills are required.
  • Ability to multi-task is necessary.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests promptly using the appropriate greeting for the time of day.
  • Provide security and control at the front door and retail area of the facility.
  • Check each member into the gym using proper procedures.
  • Monitor check-ins for delinquent accounts and notify the Gym Operations Supervisor.
  • Register all guests into the gym using proper registration procedures.
  • Direct guests and appointments to the appropriate fitness consultant in a professional manner.
  • Answer phone calls by the third ring using proper greeting techniques.
  • Address caller requests and take appropriate messages, noting the caller's name.
  • Register all telephone inquiries and transfer calls to the appropriate Fitness Consultants.
  • Follow up on telephone inquiries to ensure appointments are booked properly.
  • Respond immediately to member requests, inquiries, and concerns.
  • Maintain a neat appearance and wear proper uniform attire with a nametag while on duty.
  • Distribute keys, towels, and other materials as needed.
  • Reserve time and make appointments for special classes or activities sponsored by the gym.
  • Process retail and concession sales.
  • Attend all staff meetings as directed.
  • Clean and maintain the front desk area according to company standards.
  • Conduct gym walk-thrus as designated in the walk-thru log.
  • Follow proper opening and closing procedures as instructed in the FDA training manual.
  • Log all maintenance concerns reported.
  • Report any safety concerns and notify management of gym incidents requiring incident reports.
  • Work when scheduled and adhere to company attendance policies.
  • Perform other reasonable work assignments as directed by management.
