As a Front Desk Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients, clients, and visitors at our primary reference lab. Your role will be critical in delivering outstanding service and supporting the smooth operation of our facility. Pay: Starts at $17.50 per hour Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision with In-Network & Custom Network discounts 401(K) with discretionary employer match Paid Time Off Free clinical diagnostic laboratory testing performed in house Essential Job Functions: Use of on-line Patient Registration to accurately register patients Use of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to look up and print patient orders Accurately make change and manage $200 cash drawer Perform data entry and accurately track patient payments Understand other departments and how they interact with the operations of the organization Participate in Quality Assurance Monitors Follow all established I.Q. protocols Take Customer Service phone calls and follow up of patient and client requests Filing, use of copy machine, phone system and calculator as needed Understand and adhere to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations to assure patient confidentiality Perform other work related duties as assigned Education & Certification: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Previous customer service experience Strong preference for candidates with a consistent employment history and minimal career gaps Skills & Competencies: Understanding of various computer programs and basic keyboard skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for long periods while working at the desk or assisting patients. Occasional lifting of small items (up to 10-15 lbs). Frequent use of a keyboard and mouse for data entry. Moving around the office or laboratory to assist visitors and retrieve documents. Ability to speak clearly and hear effectively when interacting with others. Occasional bending or reaching for files or supplies. OSHA Category : This position may occasionally perform tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
