Requirements

  • Applicants should be high school graduates
  • one to two years experience in medical office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Processes patients in and out of office in a timely fashion.
  • Registers patients.
  • Schedules patients for continuity doctor.
  • Answers telephones, takes adequate messages, screens and refers telephone calls according to telephone protocol.
  • Provides continuity of care to our patients and prioritizing appointments for same day visits (SDA’S).
  • Enters and maintains physician schedules using computerized scheduling.
  • Assigns and enters proper ICD-10 codes daily.
  • Posts charges daily.
  • Keeps accurate patient log for secretarial department daily.
  • Prepares and processes patient referrals as necessary.
  • Provides coverage in medical records.
  • Enters complete and accurate patient information into the electronic medical record.
  • Performs clerical duties as necessary.
  • Collects patient payments.
  • Trains new staff.
  • Processes patients in and out of office in a timely fashion.
  • Answers telephones, take adequate messages, screens and refers telephone calls according to telephone protocol.
  • Enters and maintains physician schedules using computerized scheduling
  • Post charges in AS400.
  • Audits daily patient charges.
  • Cover when staff shortage exists.
  • Educate and communicate new tasks, billing procedures.
  • Provides continuity of care to our patients and prioritizing appointments for same day visits (SDA’S).
