Position Summary: The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and directing visitors and consumers in a professional manner; providing scheduling support to the clinical and records room staff; answering and routing phone calls in a courteous manner and other day-to-day operations to run the front desk professionally and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Able to sit for long periods of time
  • Occasional lifting of 20 lbs.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates great customer service skills and phone etiquette.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct clients, visitors, and staff in a professional, courteous manner in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • Receive, screen, and route all telephone calls or walk-ins, taking accurate messages and giving referral/general information, as appropriate.
  • Checks in walk-ins for Counseling Center, provides appropriate paperwork and information to complete paperwork, documents walk-in data.
  • Check phone messages daily.
  • Maintain scheduling systems for clinical staff, including making reminder calls.
  • Contacts clients to cancel appointments when counselor is out.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and maintain proper documentation, including scanning identification and insurance card.
  • Collect co-payments and fees from and provide receipt to consumers/clients.
  • Maintain proper documentation and secure monies received.
  • Distribute bus tokens and verify client eligibility.
  • Update client demographics and notify staff of any changes in client contact information.
  • Provide appropriate documentation and admission process for potential clients who may either call in or walk in.
  • Input new client information by referral or direct input.
  • Maintain log of all daily check-in and group sign-in sheets.
  • Accepts deliveries from vendors and contacts appropriate programs.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
