About The Position

The Front Desk Receptionist serves as a liaison and the first point of contact for students, staff, faculty, and visitors while assisting in maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment within Charis Bible College. This role combines customer service, administrative support, and additional security monitoring responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must sign the Statement of Faith
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education is required
  • Must pass all required checks
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a front desk, receptionist, customer service, or administrative support role in a professional office environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with clients, visitors, internal staff, and senior leadership
  • Effective and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to interpret, evaluate, and enforce policy and procedural requirements.
  • Must be able to deal with confidential information discreetly and professionally.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette.
  • Must be a self-starter able to work independently and be proactive in all their duties and assignments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in basic office software, including email, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Word.
  • Must be able to effectively operate a Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • A college degree is preferred
  • A Charis Bible College graduate is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all who enter in a professional and courteous manner, using proper greetings and closing language
  • Verify visitor purpose and destination
  • Issue visitor badges, and maintain accurate visitor logs
  • Notify appropriate staff when a visitor has arrived
  • Handle basic questions, concerns, or complaints calmly
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Answer phone calls, and review and respond to emails
  • Provide directions, general campus information, and building policies for visitors and students
  • De-escalate minor conflicts using calm, professional communication
  • Complete assigned administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, forms, etc., all while maintaining strict confidentiality.
