Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 per hour, DOE Employment Status: This is a seasonal, temporary assignment filled through a third-party staffing agency. Individuals in this role are not City employees and do not exercise independent managerial authority. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Aquatics Coordinator, this position’s primary duties are administrative, customer service, and program support. The position is responsible for assisting in the front office of the Meridian Pool. Responsible for front desk tasks which include taking calls, checking voicemail, answering questions, assisting with swim lesson registrations, Open Swim check-ins, administering swim tests, hands out wristbands when needed, and may assist with documentation related to incident reports under the direction of the Aquatics Coordinator or lead staff during emergencies. Assists with daily opening and closure procedures. Assists with front-office support during transitions in between facility activities (Swim team, Swim lessons, Open Swim, etc.). Assists with keeping front office orderly and helps with overall facility cleanliness, as well as supporting staff with cleaning tasks as directed by the Aquatics Coordinator. Understands the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) protocols and performs assigned support duties during emergencies under the direction of the Aquatics Coordinator or lead staff. Fully comprehend all pool policies and procedures in place and can confidently explain them to any individual inquiring. Immediately communicate any safety concerns to Aquatics Coordinator, as staff and patron safety holds top priority. Knowledgeable in Swim Lesson curriculum and assists with placing participants into classes based on established guidelines and direction from the Aquatics Coordinator. Familiarizes oneself with REC1’s layout to assist in setting up new accounts, registering participants, and processing transactions. Responsible for keeping Swim Lesson binder in order by helping Aquatics Coordinator print rosters and assign instructors as well as updating any changes regarding transfers, cancellations, or upgrades to classes. Assists Aquatics Coordinator with calling participants on Private Lesson waitlists, scheduling and processing payments for those who enroll. Understands facility schedule and is able to answer any questions pertaining to hours. Capable of assisting with minor First Aid emergencies and working with staff to provide proper care. Operates the cash register in front office during business hours in accordance with established procedure. Help Aquatic Coordinator with Private Party booking, and cancellations. Promptly communicates any questions, comments, concerns, disagreements, or relevant situations involving patrons or staff to Aquatics Coordinator. Ability to be patient, communicate clearly and respectfully with all patrons including children while working in the front office, out on the pool deck, during swimming lessons, swim team, and at all times. Appropriately represents the Meridian Pool, and the City of Meridian in a positive manner. Assists the Aquatics Coordinator with monitoring supply levels and notifying them when restocking is needed. Punctual and reliable attendance to all shifts, meetings and training. Is expected to attend staff in-services and meetings, unless told otherwise by Aquatics Coordinator. Possesses self-initiative to help as needed throughout the facility. Performs other duties as assigned.
