About The Position

Works within the guidelines of AAPCI and carries out its functions, policies and procedures; observing the schedules in the facility and adhering to its established personnel policies and practices. Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the Front Desk Monitor is expected to perform the following principal duties and responsibilities. Ensure front desk coverage and authorize entrance and departure of employees, tenants, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Patrol premises and conduct perimeter checks to prevent intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates of every floor. While making rounds, check every floor and make sure that the premises is safe and secured. Also check stairwells, fire exits, mechanical room, fire extinguishers and pull boxes and report problems to the Building Management or Program Director when Building Management is not available. Staff desk Make sure that all visitors' sign in the visitor's log sheet and maintain a shift log. Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances. Complete reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. Document all incidents as they occur in a timely manner and follow agency and funder procedures as it relates to incident reporting. Call police or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Performs other related duties as may be requested by immediate supervisor and in his/her absence the Program Director.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency and at least 21 years of age
  • Knowledgeable and trained on Fire Panel use
  • Valid Certified Fire Safety Coordinator License (F80, S95) with at least two (2) years’ experience in the security field
  • Must have related experiences or formal education on residential settings, homeless shelters, and/or supportive housing programs
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Follow detailed procedures
  • Have good customer service skills
  • Must be able to work collegially and independent of intensive supervision
  • Attends all internal trainings, and other mandated trainings scheduled by funding agency
