About The Position

Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified Front Desk Clerk to support the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Minneapolis, MN. Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain PIV badge clearance.
  • This position requires passing an extensive background check.
  • High school diploma/GED or higher
  • Able to lift packages weighing 25lbs or less.
  • Valid Real-ID state-issued driver's license
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner
  • Excellent and accurate written communication
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required
  • Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry

  • Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality

Responsibilities

  • Screen visitors and guests by viewing USDA badge identification before granting office access, or by reviewing government furnished lists of expected guests if USDA badge access is unavailable.
  • Direct guests and visitors to sign in and sign out to maintain building onsite accountability. Additionally, contract employees shall issue, and track visitors passes.
  • Issue and track elevator cards.
  • Assign lockers to staff or replace locker batteries and re-set locker codes as necessary.
  • Direct screened guests to the appropriate department, conference, and / or meeting room.
  • Contact USDA designated contact of associated guests to alert them of their guest arrival.
  • Retrieve packages and boxes left outside of the front office doors and sign for packages if mailroom staff are unavailable.
  • Route calls or onsite personnel to appropriate USDA personnel member.
  • Use a government laptop in accordance with federal information technology rules for official government work including reviewing and responding to email inquiries.
  • Keep the front desk neat and organized, aiding in creating a warm environment.
  • Update all Minneapolis email addresses and phone number listing, as necessary.
  • Ensure emergency binders are updated quarterly.
  • Coordinate meeting room reservations and room configurations, as needed.
  • Restock the mailroom supplies monthly, restock wipes in open office areas, as needed.
  • Provide a requested supply list to the BOD quarterly to replenish supply cabinet.
  • Monitor the Minneapolis Facilities email box and route to the appropriate BOD member to address the email and forward building wide email events to the Minneapolis email group, as needed.
  • Answer the front desk phone and route to the appropriate USDA point of contact.
  • Initiate the Informa Cast announcement system in case of an emergency.
  • Replace presidential portraits at the front desk, as needed.
  • Update digital signage displays, as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
