About The Position

Under supervision of the Member Services Coordinator, the Front Desk Attendant supports the general operations of the Student Recreation Center (SRC) front desk by providing exceptional hospitality, assisting members and guests, and supporting all Titan Recreation programs and services.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing
  • Must obtain a nationally recognized First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (American Red Cross preferred) – within 30 days of employment
  • Must complete: Bloodborne Pathogens Campus Health and Safety Requirements CSU’S Discrimination Harassment Prevention Program Data Security and FERPA Gender Equity and Title IX Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) First Aid/CPR/AED within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to lift, lower, push and pull loads ranging in weight from 5-35 lbs
  • Must be able to carry loads ranging from 5-35 lbs for distances up to 20ft

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent hospitality by greeting members and guests upon arrival and creating a welcoming environment.
  • Answer telephone, walk-in inquiries, and emails regarding programs and services offered in the Student Recreation Center, and respond to general inquiries
  • Assist with membership sales, renewals, and account inquiries.
  • Process and book all registrations per established procedures (memberships, personal training, programs)
  • Check in/out equipment and ensure accurate tracking of inventory.
  • Ensure all guests/visitors are checked in and given an ID badge per established procedure
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area.
  • Support daily operations by communicating important information to professional and student staff.
  • Monitor facility access to ensure only authorized individuals enter the building and that all members, guests, and visitors follow established SRC policies.
  • Adhere to all policies in the Front Desk Manual
  • Assist in the maintenance, update and revision of filing systems, forms and reports used in the operation of the department
  • Assist in the distribution of marketing materials and help connect students with upcoming opportunities and resources.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of SRC and Titan Recreation programs, services, and events.
  • Promote a positive and welcoming image of the SRC through daily interactions with members and guests.
  • Serve as a key point of promotion for SRC activities and programs by providing accurate information, encouraging participation, and assisting with sign‑ups.
  • Support outreach initiatives by participating in tabling, on‑campus events, and other engagement efforts.
  • Promote a positive image of the SRC and its many programs and services by keeping current on all areas of the recreation department
  • Responsible for preparing accident, missing item and incident reports as required, and contacting appropriate University personnel in case of emergencies within the necessary time frame
  • Must maintain strict adherence to the safety procedures and attend all safety meetings as scheduled
  • Must attend and participate in mandatory trainings, scheduled safety meetings, and meeting sessions
  • Provide welcoming and attentive hospitality to all members, guests, and visitors.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments
  • Support a collaborative team environment by communicating effectively and assisting staff across Titan Recreation programs and services.
  • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
  • Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately
