About The Position

The Front Desk Attendant at the YMCA is responsible for assisting members and guests at the Welcome Center, providing customer service, reception, and information services. This position operates under the supervision of the Membership Director and collaborates with other YMCA staff. The attendant will engage with members and guests, handle membership and program registrations, and ensure a welcoming environment. The role requires working the opening shift from 4:45 AM to 9 AM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Requirements

  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range or accommodations made.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and work under stress.
  • Flexibility to work weekday, evening, and weekend hours.
  • Successful completion of background screening.
  • Acquire and maintain certifications in First Aid/CPR/AED and Redwoods Online Training Modules.

Responsibilities

  • Enthusiastically engage and greet each member/guest that comes into the YMCA.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with staff, members, and guests.
  • Understand all program and membership offerings and registration methods.
  • Properly use Daxko software to complete transactions.
  • Provide tours of the facility to potential new members.
  • Promote the YMCA and its programs.
  • Handle financial assistance applications and transactions confidentially.
  • Work closely with branch leaders to ensure Welcome Center policies are met.
  • Answer telephone calls, providing information and routing calls.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Ensure proper sign-in and sign-out of consumers at the front desk.
