Excelsior Wellness is seeking a skilled, customer-focused Front Desk Associate to support our team for 4-5 months in this temporary rol e . The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service expertise, a positive and professional demeanor, and excellent multitasking skills. This role plays a critical part in supporting clinic operations by managing client interactions, ensuring smooth daily workflows, and contributing to a welcoming, safe, and efficient care environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a healthcare or business-related field is preferred.
Experience in healthcare operations, patient scheduling, insurance processes, or similar administrative functions.
Strong ability to work independently, multitask, and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Answering incoming calls and providing timely assistance to patients.
Reviewing provider schedules and ensuring accuracy.
Managing work queues and routing items appropriately.
Collecting co‑payments and maintaining an accurate cash drawer.
Opening, sorting, and distributing mail.
Scheduling patient appointments and coordinating follow-up care.
Registering patients in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Processing and managing internal referrals.
Checking patients in and out for appointments.
Supporting providers with follow-up phone calls, letters, and documentation needs.
Scanning and indexing documents into the EHR.
Monitoring emergency room notifications and ensuring appropriate staff are alerted.
Verifying patient insurance eligibility and updating records.
