About The Position

The front desk assistant primarily answers the phone and helps students as they come in to the PARC for academic assistance and/or to study. The ideal candidate will be friendly and welcoming, proficient in computers, and willing to work with little supervision.

Requirements

  • Enrolled for credit at UW-Parkside
  • Attend pre-semester training, as well as periodic training during the semester

Responsibilities

  • Open and/or close the PARC
  • Greet and welcome students/faculty/staff as they enter PARC
  • Answer telephone and check/follow up to voicemail
  • Assist in making appointments
  • Make appropriate referrals to other campus resources
  • Follow all procedures and policies set by the Parkside Academic Resource Center
  • Report immediately to the PARC Manager when critical issue(s) arises
  • Attend and participate in meetings as scheduled
  • Work 4 – 20 hours per week
