About The Position

The Guest Service Agent plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for hotel guests by managing check-ins and check-outs, providing information about hotel services and local attractions, and handling reservations and payments. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a front desk agent preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED certification or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prioritization and time management skills required.
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
  • Attention to detail skills required.
  • Reliable mode of transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
  • Issue room keys and escort instructions to guests or bell staff as appropriate.
  • Date-stamp, sort, and rack incoming mail and messages.
  • Transmit and receive messages using equipment such as telephone, fax, and switchboard.
  • Answer inquiries regarding hotel services, guest registration, and local shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
  • Keep records of room availability and guest accounts.
  • Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
  • Make, confirm, and cancel reservations for guests as needed.
  • Post charges for room, food, liquor, or telephone by hand or machine.
  • Make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations for guests when requested.
  • Deposit guests' valuables in hotel safe or safe-deposit box as needed.
  • Order complimentary flowers or champagne for special guests at management's direction.
  • Understand and enforce hotel company credit policies.
  • Account for all cash and make deposits in accordance with hotel and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with other front office and hotel departments.
  • Report to work for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform according to company policy.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures related to the position and its duties.
  • Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
  • Cross-sell other Shamin Hotels.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
