Responsibilities also include sorting and tracking incoming mail and messages, transmitting and receiving messages through various communication channels, and answering inquiries related to hotel services, guest registration, and local shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions. The role requires computing bills, collecting payments, and making change for guests, as well as making, confirming, and canceling reservations through all communication avenues. Additionally, the position involves posting charges to guest bills when the interface is inoperable, making reservations for transportation or entertainment for guests, and depositing guest valuables in the hotel safe deposit box. A full working knowledge and expertise of each shift, including night audit, is essential.
