About The Position

The Front Desk Agent at Courtyard by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront/South is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests during their check-in and check-out processes. This role involves handling guest inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive experience for all guests while maintaining knowledge of hotel services and operations.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One year previous experience in a similar position in a hotel.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist guests with check-in and check-out processes.
  • Answer and process all phone calls received.
  • Handle special requests for services or information.
  • Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Keep knowledge of hotel features, services, and hours of operation.
  • Maintain knowledge of room rates, special packages, and promotions.
  • Monitor daily house count and expected arrivals/departures.
  • Process all guest check-ins and verify registration card information.
  • Collect cash and input guest credit/payment information into the system.
  • Direct Bell Person to escort guests and transport luggage.
  • Handle overbooked or walked-in guests.
  • Accept and record wake-up call requests.
  • Monitor, send, and distribute guest faxes.
  • Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments.
  • Resolve discrepancies on the room status report with Housekeeping.
  • Match bucket check to in-house guest ledger report and report discrepancies.
  • Process all check-outs and adjustment vouchers.
