About The Position

The Freight Brokerage Carrier Sales Representative will be responsible for sourcing transportation providers and providing tracking updates as needed to support customer requests. This role involves developing a carrier coverage strategy and having full autonomy for supporting a customer's truckload & LTL coverage needs. The representative will directly engage with Account Executives, Shipment Management Associates (SMA), and Business Development Managers to build an effective network of service providers to support all freight transportation needs desired by customers.

  • Clear understanding of SMS legacy system intermediate required
  • Understanding of assigned customer, customer product and distribution requirements intermediate required
  • H.S. diploma/GED required
  • Three (3) years or more business experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field

Responsibilities

  • Tender accept/reject loads, creates loads, sets appointments, dispatches, tracks and traces loads, root cause problem solves issues, and resolves/communicates to carrier and/or customer as appropriate
  • Identifies and Develops relationships with transportation providers to ensure adequate coverage to maximize penetration of customer freight portfolio through soliciting capacity
  • Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads to ensure proper all customer's needs are met in the agreed upon time period
  • Continuous improvement in all segments of the business
  • Schedules and dispatches while ensuring compliance of Federal, State, and Local regulations
  • Responsible for timely updating of load statuses to the TMS
  • Maintain a positive employee related climate and maintain a customer satisfaction index at a World Class Level while having availability 24/7/365 for responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
