About The Position

Rove Concepts is a global eCommerce brand specializing in modern, contemporary furniture and design. Our creative department plays a critical role in how our brand is experienced — from long-form storytelling to high-performing paid media and social-first content. We are looking for an experienced freelance video editor to support our video team on a project basis. This role is for someone who thinks beyond cuts and transitions — someone who understands story, pacing, brand, and how video drives engagement and conversion. If you are constantly evolving your craft, experimenting with new tools (including AI), and balancing creativity with performance, we want to see your work.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional video editing experience
  • Strong portfolio or reel showcasing storytelling, brand, and performance-oriented work
  • Proficiency in: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve
  • Strong sense of timing, sequencing, composition, and visual flow
  • Solid understanding of sound design and music integration
  • Ability to work independently and hit deadlines consistently
  • Familiarity with emerging AI tools and how they can support creative workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Design background or strong design sensibility
  • Photo editing and retouching experience
  • Experience working on set
  • Experience editing for or managing a YouTube channel, including growth and optimization
  • Background or strong interest in video advertising and performance marketing
  • Additional personal or experimental projects that show range and curiosity

Responsibilities

  • Edit a wide range of video content, including: Long-form branded storytelling eCommerce-focused product videos Paid ads with strong hooks and clear conversion intent Social-first and platform-native content (Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
  • Translate creative direction and brand guidelines into polished, on-brand video executions
  • Craft compelling narratives through pacing, sound design, music, and visual rhythm
  • Conceptualize and generate new video ideas that push the brand forward while staying aligned with our visual and tonal standards
  • Understand how different video formats function across platforms and optimize edits for performance
  • Collaborate with copywriters, designers, stylists, producers, and internal stakeholders
  • Manage audio selection, sound design, and finishing details with care and intention
  • Work independently, manage deadlines, and problem-solve creatively with minimal supervision
