About The Position

Audio Description Quality Control Technician – Freelance Position Summary We currently have openings for project-based Quality Control Technician for Audio Description. This position is remote, and projects will be assigned on an as-needed basis. Main Duties Listen to recorded Audio Description (AD), comparing the content of the AD to the video in order to ensure that the narration is accurate, as well as check the narration for any misreading of the AD script, audio glitches, or additional noises. Use designated QC reports and other documentation to verify compliance of Deluxe product to client specifications regarding content, legal, and technical specs. Follow department protocols for applying changes to the AD script Adjust AD script, as needed, to provide a better template for pronunciations and performance by AD narrator. Duties require a keen eye for recognizing important details in the program that need to be conveyed to visually impaired people, along with a methodical, accurate, and detail-oriented approach to monitoring audio, video, and any onscreen text. Must be able to work in several client and/or company-specific platforms for AD script writing, recording, and or QC. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill set: Audio Description experience, a plus. 2-4 years proofreading, copyediting, and/or copywriting experience preferred, but not required. Education and/or strong interest in film and television. A fundamental understanding of audio, video, PC, Mac, Microsoft Word and Excel. Be able to troubleshoot quality control issues. Must be organized, diligent, and detail oriented. Possess solid verbal and written communication skills. Duties require an accurate and methodical approach to the QC process, as well as a very focused and detailed attention to audio quality and writing content. Must be capable of working in a fast-paced, small team environment with hard deadlines. QC Technicians can earn up to $4 per program minute, depending on the nature of the content and assignment. Requirements
