Freelance Production Coordinator - New York
About The Position
Slate Studios is a creative production company specializing in advertising and editorial content for the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle industries. We produce stills, motion, and full-scale campaigns for emerging brands through global luxury clients. We’re hiring a Freelance Production Coordinator to support pre-production, on-set execution, and wrap across stills and short-form motion projects. You’ll work closely with Lead Producers and the internal team to keep productions organized, on schedule, and running smoothly. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone who knows set life and thrives in fast-moving environments.
Requirements
- 2–4+ years experience in photo and/or motion production
- Prior experience as a Production Coordinator or strong Production Assistant ready to step up
- Organized, proactive, and calm under pressure
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects at different stages
- Tools: Google Workspace, Asana or Airtable; QuickBooks Online and Salesforce familiarity a plus
- NYC-based or able to be on-site as required
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end production across pre-pro, shoot days, and wrap
- Build and maintain schedules, call sheets, run of show, and project trackers
- Coordinate crew and vendors (photographers, stylists, HMU, DT, PAs, studios, equipment)
- Assist with client and agency communications as directed by the Lead Producer
- Track budgets, POs, COIs/insurance, permits, and vendor paperwork
- Manage logistics: studio/location coordination, transport, load-in/out, catering
- Support on-set operations and problem-solving
- Track asset delivery timelines for stills and motion
- Assist with post-shoot wrap, invoicing, and reconciliations
