About The Position

The Freelance Auditor will be responsible for conducting Factory Audits on behalf of SGS Gulf Limited for manufacturers located in the USA/Europe region. The role involves assessing factory quality management systems and product safety management systems to verify compliance with applicable SASO Technical Regulations. This includes on-site factory evaluations, evidence collection, and preparation of audit reports within defined timelines, in accordance with SGS templates, protocols, and procedures. The engagement type with SGS will be as Freelance / As needed basis, requiring physical availability and fast response for on-site factory audits.

Requirements

  • Freelancer with availability to conduct on‑site factory audits in the USA / Europe region
  • Strong understanding of factory quality systems and manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with third‑party inspection, testing, or certification bodies
  • Familiarity with factory audit concepts as per ISO/IEC 17067 standards
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High level of professionalism, objectivity, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable interacting with factory management at operational and managerial levels
  • Capable of meeting tight reporting timelines and audit deliverables
  • Preferably hold an Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
  • Certified ISO 9001 (or other management systems such as ISO/TS 16949, HACCP, ISO 22000) Lead Auditor, with audit experience
  • Proven experience in conducting factory audits
  • Minimum of 1 year of technical or industry experience relevant to the product category being audited (e.g., building materials, electrical batteries, food contact materials, textiles)
  • Strong communication and report writing skills

  • Experience with SASO regulations

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Factory Audits on behalf of SGS Gulf Limited for manufacturers located in the USA/ Europe region
  • Assess factory quality management systems
  • Assess Product safety Management systems, to verify compliance with applicable SASO Technical Regulations
  • Involve on‑site factory evaluations
  • Evidence collection
  • Preparation of audit reports within defined timelines, in accordance with SGS templates, protocols and procedures
  • Participate in SGS trainings, inductions, and technical briefings as required
