About The Position
Freelance Estimator - Light Commercial Construction Arizona Building Contractors, LLC Arizona Building Contractors is seeking a Freelance Estimator for light commercial construction projects only. This role does not include residential, industrial, heavy civil, or high-rise work. We are looking for someone with at least five years of commercial estimating experience who can review plans, photos, videos, and project information remotely to develop accurate budgets, identify risks, and help establish an initial baseline schedule. Project Types Commercial tenant improvements Office and retail build-outs Interior remodels and renovations Other small to mid-size light commercial projects
Requirements
- At least 5 years of commercial estimating experience.
- Strong light commercial background.
- Ability to work remotely and organize pricing from shared plans, videos, photos, and documentation.
- Ability to identify missing information and pricing risks before construction.
- Strong communication, follow-through, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Prepare takeoffs, budgets, and estimates from plans, specifications, and available project information.
- Review documents for scope gaps, plan conflicts, cost risks, and potential RFIs.
- Coordinate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
- Develop an initial baseline schedule based on trade partner input and estimating experience.
- Clearly communicate assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications, and work within our internal systems and budget structure.
