The Department of Finance in the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi invites applications for the Frank R. Day/Mississippi Bankers Association Endowed Chair. This position is at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The appointment can be either tenured or non-tenure track and will start in August 2026. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate banking and finance courses and carry out duties assigned by the Dean of the School of Business Administration and the Chair of the Department of Finance. The standard teaching load for the tenured position is 2/1; the non-tenure track load is 3/3. Additional responsibilities include managing the Banking Symposium, a Banking Symposium that regularly draws 200 or more attendees, along with other initiatives that elevate the banking industry's profile in Mississippi, the region, and nationally. To be considered, applicants must have earned a doctorate degree in finance from an AACSB accredited or well-regarded business program. Candidates must have demonstrated research and teaching interests in banking (finance). Candidates for a tenured position should possess a proven track record of original research and/or publication in top banking and finance journals. Candidates for a non-tenure track position must be academically qualified to teach banking and finance courses under AACSB accreditation standards.
