THE ROLE Chetola Resort is seeking a skilled and reliable Framer to join our Maintenance & Engineering team. This hands-on professional will focus on structural and framing projects that support renovation, repair, and new construction work across our historic resort, lodge, and condominiums. The ideal candidate brings precision, craftsmanship, and a strong understanding of building techniques to help preserve and enhance the resort’s beauty and integrity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Framer, Carpenter, or in a related construction trade
  • Strong understanding of residential or light commercial framing techniques
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and building plans
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety procedures, and structural integrity standards
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in physically active environments, including outdoors
  • Availability to work occasional weekends or holidays as needed for resort projects
  • Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

  • Perform all phases of wood framing, including layout, measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans to determine specifications and layout
  • Repair or replace damaged framework and structural components in resort facilities and condominiums
  • Ensure all framing work meets building codes, safety standards, and resort quality expectations
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers, Carpenters, and contractors on renovation and remodeling projects
  • Operate power tools and hand tools safely and maintain them in good working condition
  • Assist with installing doors, windows, drywall backing, and finish components as needed
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites and protect surrounding areas during construction or repairs
  • Coordinate daily with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan and prioritize projects
  • Provide accurate material measurements and supply needs for upcoming work
  • Work cooperatively with other trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) to ensure efficient project completion
  • Communicate effectively with resort leadership and other departments regarding progress and timelines
  • Support occasional resort-wide or seasonal projects, such as renovations, structural upgrades, and event installations
