Our Fractional Controllers typically work directly with a number of clients during a month to support their financial reporting, system, and operational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to construction or project-based accounting
  • Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and construction financial controls
  • Experience partnering with client-facing operations and project teams in a fast-paced, consulting environment
  • High level of attention to detail, ownership, and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and proactively solve problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of client construction accounting and financial reporting, including WIP schedules, job cost accounting, and percentage-of-completion reporting
  • Manage client project-level budgets, forecasts, and cash flow, ensuring alignment with operational and financial targets
  • Monitor job cost performance, identify variances, and partner with client project managers to address risks and improve profitability
  • Support client leadership with financial analysis, dashboards, and ad hoc reporting to inform strategic decision-making
  • Ensure client financial records are maintained with a high level of accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality
  • Complete monthly close ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
  • Oversee Redpath associates processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and subcontractor billing, including lien waivers and compliance documentation
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to support client company scalability and risk management
